Job summary

Canadian Nuclear Laboratories’ Chalk River Laboratory is seeking a Quality Assurance Representative to ensure products and services meet regulatory and client requirements. You will lead audits, develop quality plans, and train teams while collaborating with suppliers and internal stakeholders to sustain safety and excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's (Honours) in Engineering or Science from a recognized university.
• Significant related engineering/science experience.
• Auditing and assessment training/experience would be an asset.
• Knowledge of compliance assurance, quality assurance, safety analysis, and nuclear programs (e.g., security, environmental protection, radiological protection).

Responsibilities

• Advising on quality codes and standards and guiding customers in applying quality standards.
• Conducting first- and second-party audits/assessments.
• Preparing audit reports and raising audit/assessment non-conformities.
• Developing procedures, Quality Plans, project-specific plans, and articulating recommendations to management, regulatory authorities, and the public.
• Establishing effective relations with suppliers and promoting partnerships with CNL.
• Providing facilitation and training in surveillance.

Our Chalk River location is looking for a Quality Assurance Representative to ensure products and services are delivered effectively, efficiently, and in full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

What you will be doing!

• Advising on quality codes and standards as applied to projects and facility operation and providing guidance to customers in the application of quality standards.


• Conducting first- and second-party audits/assessments.


• Preparing audit reports in a timely fashion and raising audit/assessment non-conformities.


• Developing procedures, Quality Plans, project-specific plans, and articulating recommendations to management, regulatory authorities, and the general public.


• Establishing effective relations with suppliers, recognizing and promoting the relationship and significance of strong partnerships with CNL (Canadian Nuclear Laboratories).


• Providing facilitation and training in surveillance.


• Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What We Are Looking For

  • At a minimum, a Bachelor's (Honours) in Engineering or Science from a university of recognized standing; or membership in an engineering or scientific organization authorized by statute to establish qualification for membership in that organization.

  • Significant related experience in a field of specialization.

• Security Clearance Eligibility Required
  
  
  
  • Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
  
  
  
  

Working Conditions

• Working schedule: Five (5) days per week, seven and a half (7.5) hours per day for a thirty-seven and a half (37.5) hour work week.


• This position is part of the CRPEG Union and is governed by the terms and conditions outlined in the CRPEG Collective Agreement. This role is a fully onsite role that requires the employee to primarily work at CNL’s Chalk River Laboratory site, with only occasional opportunities to work remotely, if desired by the employee.
