Job summary

New Flyer in Winnipeg is seeking a Quality Assurance professional to ensure our buses meet our Internal Quality Control System and standards. The role involves identifying gaps, performing in-process and final inspections, and communicating non-conformances to drive corrective actions with cross-functional teams.

A strong eye for detail and teamwork are essential, with experience in blueprints, BOMs, and quality systems an asset.

Qualifications

• Reads blueprints and uses precision testing instruments.
• Understands and applies quality systems to drive improvements.
• Able to read BOMs and relate to product completion.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
• Experience with Oracle database system is an asset.
• NDT certification is an asset.
• Able to work rotating shifts.

POSITION SUMMARY

As a key member of our Quality Assurance team,this position will be responsible for ensuring our buses adhere and comply with our Internal Quality Control System.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Responsible for identifying quality and process gaps and non-conformance issues.
• In-process inspection of production, fabricated and purchased materials.
• Final inspection of buses for delivery, investigate and communicate internally and externally on non-conformance issues and find resolutions to issues.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

• Ability to read blueprints and use a variety of precision testing and measuring instruments.
• Experience understanding and applying quality systems to drive and sustain improvements.
• Have great interpersonal, communication, problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Clear understanding of the bill of materials as it relates to product completion.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, with a focus on Excel and Word.
• Previous experience working with Oracle database system would be considered an asset.
• NDT certification would be considered an asset.
• Ability to work rotating shifts.
