Qualifications

Quality Assurance and Food Safety Specialist

Location :

  • Head Office : 25 Sims Crescent, Unit 1, Richmond Hill ON L4B 1C9

Responsibilities :

  • Conduct internal brand standard, food safety, health and safety assessments using a foundation of consulting, coaching, and training to achieve established outcomes
  • Work with Operation Team to address root cause of assessment non-conformances and develop / implement effective corrective action plan(s)
  • Facilitate food safety training and perform follow-up to failed assessments as required (I.e., re-assessments, etc.)
  • Provide reports and summaries concerning quality assurance and food safety related matters from internal assessments, 3rd party assessments and customer internal assessments
  • Coach teammates to ensure a safer and healthier workplace environment for everyone including our customers and consumers
  • Main point of contact for Operation Team and customer to address any quality assurance and / or food safety related concerns
  • Assist in managing interactions with regulatory authorities, including health inspectors and health departments.
  • Assist with handling and investigation of customer / consumer complaints
  • Assist with creation, implementation, continuous improvement and training of food safety / quality assurance policies or procedures
  • Continuous improvement to all established programs, protocols, and procedures
  • May be requested to work on special projects and other duties / responsibilities as required on a periodic basis

Qualifications :

  • Post-secondary Degree or diploma in a related field (i.e., Food Science, Food Safety, Quality Assurance, etc.)
  • Minimum 1 year food service, food safety or hospitality industry-related experience
  • Working knowledge of food safety and quality assurance best practices
  • Effective English communication skills, written and verbal
  • Knowledge of French is preferred but not required
  • Interpersonal skills with ability to influence / build internal and external relationships
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to work well independently and with a team
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs chest high, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching
  • Available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite : PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle as the role requires travel up to 10-15 days per month
  • Ability to travel within Canada and the United States
