Job summary

Dawn InfoTek Inc. in Toronto, Canada is seeking a Junior QA Analyst to join our IT consulting team. This role focuses on manual testing of web applications, ensuring quality and reliable software for our financial and government clients.

You will develop test cases, execute various testing levels, document results, and collaborate with developers, analysts, and product owners in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of QA/manual testing experience or equivalent.
  • Solid understanding of software testing concepts and STLC.
  • Hands-on experience creating and executing test cases and test scenarios.
  • Experience with functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing.
  • Familiarity with defect tracking tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.

Responsibilities

  • Execute functional, regression, integration, system, and UAT testing.
  • Identify, document, and track defects through resolution.
  • Retest resolved defects and perform regression testing after changes.
  • Collaborate with developers, BAs, and product owners to clarify requirements.
  • Document testing results and maintain QA documentation.

We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior QA Analyst to join our dynamic team and support one of our clients. This position is primarily focused on manual testing and is ideal for someone with junior-level QA experience who has a strong understanding of software testing processes and is looking to further develop their career in Quality Assurance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform manual testing of web-based applications to ensure functionality and quality.
  • Review business and functional requirements and develop appropriate test scenarios and test cases.
  • Execute functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Identify, document, and track software defects through resolution.
  • Retest resolved defects and perform regression testing following application changes.
  • Work closely with developers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and other team members to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
  • Document testing results and maintain test cases and other QA documentation.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Support application releases by completing required testing within established timelines.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of QA/manual testing experience or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Good understanding of software testing concepts, methodologies, and the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
  • Hands-on experience creating and executing test cases and test scenarios.
  • Experience with functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing.
  • Ability to identify, document, and track defects.
  • Familiarity with defect tracking/test management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Basic understanding of SQL and database validation is an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of API testing/Postman is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical/problem-solving skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Previous experience within banking or financial services is an asset.
  • Basic understanding of automation testing concepts is beneficial but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
