Qualifications

Salary

Annual Base Salary: $66,300 - $74,000 CAD.

Role Overview

Safe Software is seeking enthusiastic Quality Analysts to join our FME Engine Product Development team. As a Quality Analyst, you will ensure that the FME product platform meets our standards of excellence for all customers.

Team Environment

Quality Analysts work directly within Product Development teams, collaborating with Software Developers, Technical Team Leads, and peers across groups. You will embed quality into the entire software development process, participate in Agile meetings, and receive team training.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the full development cycle using Scrum or Kanban methodologies.
  • Test new features in beta software and validate against acceptance criteria.
  • Write detailed test plans and cases.
  • Develop automated regression tests and test frameworks.
  • Contribute to development meetings with quality insights.
  • Create defect reports and enhancement requests.
  • Provide user experience feedback, including performance insights.
  • Set up test environments with technologies like AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, ArcGIS Online.
  • Engage in team meetings, share ideas, and brainstorm solutions.
  • Explore new technical areas such as containerization, web services, databases.
  • Participate in cross-team events like Innovation Daze.
Qualifications & Skills

Ideal candidates have:

  • 1-2 years of testing experience.
  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science, GIS, or related fields.
  • Curiosity for technology and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, team-oriented.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or Bash.
  • Attention to detail and ability to understand complex systems.
Bonus Skills
  • Experience with FME, Agile environments, test automation, GIS, databases, programming languages, and multiple OS platforms.
