Job summary

Heidelberg Materials Canada is seeking a quality-focused technician to collect aggregate samples and perform field and laboratory testing to ensure products meet regulatory and customer specifications. You will document results, support production teams, and participate in quality inspections across sites.

Based in the Metro Vancouver area, the role requires travel to production sites, outdoor sampling, and adherence to safety and QC procedures.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Materials Technology, Construction Materials, or related field preferred, with 1–2 years’ experience in aggregate/mining/quality control.
• Familiarity with CSA and ASTM testing methods and ability to perform lab or field testing.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Collect aggregate samples and perform field and laboratory testing to ensure products meet quality standards.
• Analyze, document, and communicate test results while maintaining accurate records and supporting production teams.
• Conduct quality inspections of production, stockpiles, shipping, and depot materials, including onsite sampling.
• Collaborate with operations, sales, customers, and contractors by providing technical product support and testing results.
• Support continuous improvement through research, product development, process optimization, and quality enhancements.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and follow site safety and QC procedures.
