Job summary

Amrize Canada Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Technician - Entry Level to join our team on site. You will collect aggregate samples, perform routine testing, calibrate equipment, and enter results into digital QC systems while adhering to safety and quality standards.

This role requires CCIL certification and MDOT Aggregate Technician training on site, plus the ability to travel locally to job sites. Strong basic math, Excel/Word skills, and clear communication are essential, as is a

About The Role

Collects and tests aggregate samples using routine methods and basic arithmetic computations. The Quality Control Technician ensures all product testing adheres to quality standards, supports accurate data reporting, and maintains safe operating practices across plant/site operations.

Local job site travel required for this role.

What You’ll Accomplish
  • Collect aggregate samples and perform routine testing (quartering/splitting samples, running gradations, washes, and moisture content).
  • Enter testing data accurately into the aggregate quality reporting system and maintain thorough recordkeeping.
  • Calibrate lab equipment regularly and perform routine housekeeping of the laboratory and building.
  • Utilize basic understanding of control charts to monitor product consistency and quality standards.
  • Perform all other projects and duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors. Follow and ensure full compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures, including all local, provincial, OSHA, and environmental regulations as outlined in company guidelines and customer site rules.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.

  • Safely navigating job sites and stockpiles to collect required product samples.
  • Assisting the Quality Control team with quality auditing and recordkeeping.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
What We're Looking For
  • Education: CCIL Certified required. Field of study preferred: Quality Control, Materials Testing, Civil Engineering Technology, or related discipline.
  • Required Work Experience: 3 years in QC testing of construction materials in lieu of education is preferred.
  • Required Training/Certifications: Must attend MDOT Certified Aggregate Technician program / Take CCIL Certification on site.
  • Required Technical Skills: Basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; basic math skills and basic knowledge of statistics.
  • Travel Requirements: Local job site travel required.
Additional Requirements
  • Excellent driving record and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
