Champion Petfoods is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to support Safe Quality Foods standards across our plant. You will develop, implement, and promote QA practices, document tests and results, and assist with sampling, CCP verification, and data trends.

The role involves working under supervision, onsite in Edmonton, with a focus on accuracy, safety, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced production environment. This temporary maternity leave coverage ends by 2027-12-31.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a related scientific field.
• Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and Quality systems.
• Experience operating in SQF or other GFSI standard systems.
• 2–3 years QA experience in a GFSI food production facility.
• Knowledge of chemical, biological, and physical testing; lab techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and ethics.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and implement SQF-compliant quality practices and procedures.
• Perform pre-op inspections and sample collection.
• Document QA processes and test results accurately.
• Review SOPs to meet food safety and quality standards.
• Maintain records per GFSI requirements and CCP verification.
• Conduct basic lab tasks: sampling, shipping to third-party labs, testing.
• Assist with trend analysis and data tracking.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues.
• Support sanitation practices and adherence to QA plans.
• Perform other duties as required.
