Job summary

Hitachi Rail Canada Inc. is seeking a Technical Specialist, Quality Assurance to lead QA across the CBTC safety-critical solution. You will ensure quality of deliverables, manage audits, drive continuous improvement, and maintain customer satisfaction.

The role requires strong cross-functional collaboration across engineering disciplines, supplier quality, and project teams, with a focus on first-time-right outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years of hands-on experience in Engineering System/Software development or Quality Assurance in a tech/manufacturing setting.
• Solid understanding of QA practices and Quality Management System.
• Familiarity with industry standards: CENELEC/AREMA/IEEE, ISO 9001.

Responsibilities

• Perform compliance assessment for contractual Quality Assurance requirements.
• Prepare Bid/Project Quality Plans and bid quality estimates, ensuring process adherence across Product/Project teams.
• Liaise with product teams on tailoring while ensuring standards are followed (ISO 9001, EN 50126/28/29).
• Plan, execute and document internal and site audits; participate in external audits as needed.
• Manage audit findings and non-conformances; analyze quality data for trends.
• Support First Article Inspections and root cause analyses with other disciplines.
• Coach teams to improve quality performance on projects.
