Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Canada seeks a QA professional to develop and maintain quality management for nuclear projects. You will prepare QA plans, review docs, conduct audits and drive corrective actions to ensure safety and compliance.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science with 5+ years of QA experience and knowledge of CSA/ISO standards, able to work independently or in a team in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science with a minimum of 5 years in quality management systems.
• Experience in nuclear-related audits and root cause analysis is an asset.
• Knowledge of QA standards for nuclear design, procurement and construction (CSA N286-12, CSA N285.0, CSA N286.7, ASME III NCA 4000, ISO 9001:2015, CSA N299).

Responsibilities

• Prepare Project specific QA Plan meeting governing QA program, contract requirements and applicable standards.
• Review project management/engineering documents to ensure QA requirements are identified and followed.
• Participate in requisition reviews to specify QA requirements.
• Define and document new processes and contribute to process improvement when gaps are identified.
• Conduct audits, self-assessments and root cause analysis.
• Support Non-Conformance and Corrective Action processes.
• Maintain regular reporting on quality performance.
• Provide coaching in procedural adherence and other QA matters.
• Liaise with groups within Candu.
• Plan and schedule own work with minimum supervision.

Your role

About you

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University in Engineering or Science with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the development and maintenance of quality management systems.
• Experience in conducting nuclear-related audits and performing root cause analysis is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of QA standards applicable to design, procurement, and construction for nuclear power plants such as:
  • CSA N286-12.
  • CSA N285.0.
  • CSA N286.7.
  • ASME Section III, NCA 4000.
  • ISO 9001: 2015.
  • CSA N299 series of standards.
• General knowledge of CANDU plant design.
• Advanced computing skills with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated with strong team participation skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
