Job summary

Poly-Nova Technologies, located in Guelph, Ontario, is seeking a Quality Engineer to support customer, supplier and internal teams with technical expertise and quality documentation. You will develop APQP documentation, PPAPs, and calibration-related measurements using diverse equipment.

You will work with Production and Engineering to drive continuous improvement, ensure IATF 16949 and ISO standards compliance, and prepare audit reports for quality records and projects.

Qualifications

• College or university degree in quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of quality experience in automotive environments preferred.
• ASQ certification is a plus.
• Knowledge of APQP, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, MSA, and GD&T required.
• Proficiency in SPC and advanced statistical methods.
• Experience with plastics or rubber injection molding is an asset.
• Green Belt or equivalent problem-solving training preferred.
• Knowledge of plastic/rubber injection molding processes is an asset.
• Internal auditor training in IATF 16949 Quality Management Systems preferred.
• Strong analytical and written/oral communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related tools.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and initiate inspection, testing, and evaluation standards and methods.
• Program multiple part-specific QA/engineering measurements.
• Analyze calibration and measurement problems and implement solutions.
• Perform measurement with equipment including non-contact systems.
• Prepare PPAP dimensional reports and capability studies in Minitab.
• Collaborate with Production and Engineering for testing and improvements.
• Support conformance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
• Lead APQP activities as a team member.
• Create audit reports and quality documentation.

Objectives

• Support customer, supplier and internal departments with technical expertise and quality documentation
• Development/review of APQP documentation including PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans etc.
• Create, design, calibrate and utilize equipment for measurements

Responsibilities

• Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation
• Programming of multiple part-specific programs for engineering and quality department
• Analyze and solve calibration and measurement problems
• Measurement and testing using variety of equipment including non-contact OGP, Keyence
• Complete Prototype and PPAP dimensional reports
• Complete capability reports in Minitab
• Completion of Measurement System Analysis (MSA) studies in Minitab
• Schedule internal/external calibration services
• Assist Quality Manager to ensure conformance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and ISO 45000 requirements
• Collaborate with Production and Engineering teams for testing, continuous improvements, and quality requirements
• Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) Team Member
• Prepare audit reports, charts, and other documentation required for Quality records and projects

Qualifications/ Requirements/ Competencies

• College or University Degree - Quality Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
• 2 to 3 years' Quality experience in the automotive environment
• American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification preferred
• Knowledge of the core quality tools APQP, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, MSA and GD&T
• Proficient with the utilization of SPC and advanced statistical methods
• Knowledge of plastics or rubber injection molding products and processes an asset
• Problem-solving training (Green Belt or industry equivalent)
• Practical Knowledge of plastic/rubber injection molding preferred
• Internal Auditor training in IATF 16949 Quality Management Systems
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess and provide solutions to customers
• Written and oral communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PPT)
• Eligible to travel with supporting documentation as required (i.e., valid passport, driver's license)
