Job summary

CPUS Engineering Staffing Solutions Inc. seeks a Quality Assurance Manager to lead the QA/QC program across a portfolio of concurrent nuclear and civil construction projects in Ontario. You will report to the Director of Systems & Strategy and oversee the QC team, audits, and client interfaces.

The role requires 7+ years in QA/QC within construction or nuclear contracting, ISO 9001 expertise, and the ability to manage multiple sites and schedules. Travel across Ontario is expected.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership in quality staff and driving a quality culture across project teams.
• Diploma or degree in engineering, construction, quality management, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years in a QA/QC role in construction, industrial, or nuclear contracting, including 3+ years in a lead or management capacity.
• Experience building and maintaining ITPs, PSSQPs, and NCR/CAPA systems, and interpreting contract quality requirements on lump-sum projects.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and hands-on auditing capability; ISO 9001 internal auditor or lead auditor training.
• Ability to manage quality across multiple concurrent projects and mobilizations under schedule pressure.
• Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills; client-facing quality authority experience.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain nuclear facility security clearances and site-access qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Quality program ownership: Own and continuously improve the QA/QC program within the IMS (ISO 9001, CSA N-series).
• Pre-bid & contract review: Lead contract and pre-bid quality reviews; identify QA deliverables from contracts.
• Quality planning: Develop, review, and approve Inspection & Test Plans and quality documents.
• Nonconformance & corrective action: Manage NCRs and CAPAs to closure with root-cause analysis.
• Inspection & surveillance: Oversee inspection, testing, and quality surveillance across active sites.
• Vendor & subcontractor quality: Maintain Approved Vendor List; manage supplier nonconformances.
• Audits: Plan and conduct internal audits; support external audits and drive findings to closure.
• Reporting: Provide QA inputs to management reviews and QA metrics.
• Client interface: Serve as the primary QA contact for clients and designers/contract admins.
• Special processes & qualifications: Ensure qualification controls for welding, NDE, coatings, etc.
• Team leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop QC staff and quality capability across project teams.
• Nuclear quality: Support CSA N-series requirements where applicable.
• Document control: Maintain controlled quality documents within the IMS framework.
