QA Lab Engineer — Cable Quality & Compliance

Job summary

Nexans North America is seeking a Quality Engineer to improve laboratory testing and QA for wire and cable products. You will gather and analyze technical data, lead root-cause analysis, and support quality improvements and audits with CSA/UL standards.

A engineering degree, CQE or equivalent, Six Sigma Green Belt, and ISO 9001 expertise are required. Collaborating with Production, Engineering and QA teams, you will drive quality initiatives, develop test plans, and ensure product compliance

Qualifications

• A graduate of any Engineering course (preferably electrical or electronics) with minimum of 4-5 years relevant experience in manufacturing.
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent.
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification; black belt is an asset.
• ISO 9001 Lead auditor or ISO 9001 Internal auditor certification.
• Strong knowledge of Quality tools (SPC, FMEA, 8D, CQD, QCP) and data analysis.
• Familiarity with CSA and UL standards and quality requirements.
• Experience in quality laboratories and supporting audits and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing and quality control to ensure materials and products meet requirements.
• Conduct CSA/UL compliant testing (dimensional, physical, mechanical) and issue CTRs.
• Identify and report non-conformities and support root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Lead in-process inspections, product audits, and data trend analysis.
• Develop and apply quality plans, SOPs, and test methods per standards.
• Support supplier and customer quality issues and participate in internal/external audits.
• Assist production with test inspections and ensure traceability and documentation.
