Job summary

Direct IT Recruiting Inc. in Toronto is seeking an experienced QA Engineer for a 6-month contract to support a data center exit, migrating enterprise integration services to Azure-hosted VMs.

You will validate .NET-based integration services, APIs, ETL processes, and messaging workflows, establish baseline testing, and expand automation using Playwright and Python, working with developers, analysts, and operations to ensure post-migration business continuity.

Qualifications

• S:Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology degree or equivalent work experience.
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, software testing principles, SDLC, and test automation best practices.
• 5+ years of hands-on QA Engineering, Software Testing, or Test Automation experience.
• Experience with System Integration Testing (SI), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Regression Testing, API Testing, and Test Automation.
• Hands-on experience building and executing automated tests using Playwright and Python.
• Strong SQL skills with large datasets and data validation.
• Experience testing enterprise integration services, APIs, ETL processes, and .NET/C# applications.
• Experience with SSIS and database-driven integration solutions.
• Experience migrating or testing cloud-based/migration projects (Azure preferred).
• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or similar tools.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence; Azure-hosted environments and cloud deployments.
• Exposure to event-driven/messaging architectures is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Validate migrated enterprise integration services, APIs, and data movement solutions to ensure like-for-like functionality after migration to Azure.
• Establish baseline testing, perform functional and integration testing, and expand automation coverage.
• Work with developers, business analysts, architects, and operations to ensure critical financial processes remain operational post-migration.
• Validate data reconciliation and workflow testing for migrated services and ETL processes.
• Assist in building robust automated tests and integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines.

DESCRIPTION

Seeking an experienced QA Engineer to support a large-scale data center exit initiative involving the migration of enterprise integration services from on-premises infrastructure to Azure-hosted virtual machines

.The successful candidate will be responsible for validating custom .NET-based integration services, APIs, ETL processes, messaging workflows, and data movement solutions to ensure like-for-like functionality following migration to Azure infrastructure. This role will focus on establishing baseline testing, executing functional and integration testing activities, and helping expand automation coverage using Playwright and Python

.Working closely with developers, business analysts, architects, and operational teams, the QA Engineer will validate migrated services, perform data reconciliation and workflow testing, and ensure business-critical financial processes continue to operate as expected following migration

.This is not a SimCorp development role. The primary focus is testing custom integration services, data movement, and enterprise workflows that support key investment management platforms
