Job summary

Citi in Canada is seeking a senior IT Quality engineer to lead UAT initiatives and oversee product rollouts into production. You will design and enforce testing strategies across the SDLC, monitor standards, and mentor junior engineers to ensure high quality in trading-related systems.

Expertise in Java and Python, BDD frameworks (Cucumber), and container tech (Docker/OpenShift) is required to drive CI/CD integration and automated testing excellence.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years experience in an IT Quality role.
• Demonstrated execution capabilities.
• Experience with test automation and test scripts creation and modification.
• Project management experience preferred.
• Extensive experience in a senior software or automation engineering role, with leadership impact.
• In-depth knowledge of the FIX protocol is essential.
• Expert-level proficiency in Java and Python.
• Hands-on experience with BDD frameworks, particularly Cucumber.
• Strong container technologies: Docker and OpenShift.
• Proven experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Experience in financial services/trading systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and the ability to architect complex solutions.

Responsibilities

• Responsibilities related to UAT, product rollout into production, and QA testing.
• Conducts complex process monitoring, product evaluation and audits.
• Ensures project standards are documented and followed in the SDLC.
• Monitors conformance to standards; identifies risks and recommends solutions.
• Documents findings and performs root cause analyses; proposes improvements.
• Mentors junior team members and drives quality across teams.
• Communicates complex information with diplomacy and clarity.
• Collaborates with development, DevOps, and business teams to embed quality.
• Defines automated testing strategies within CI/CD pipelines.
• Leads testing architecture using Java, Python, and Cucumber.
