Job summary

Scotiabank in Toronto, ON is seeking a Quality Engineer to design and execute automated test strategies across native mobile apps, web platforms, and APIs. You will ensure high-quality digital products through robust testing and continuous improvement.

You will collaborate with developers and QA peers, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, perform accessibility testing, and leverage AI-assisted testing tools to enhance coverage. A Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of QE experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years QE with test automation focus.
• 2+ years with Playwright/Appium/Selenium.
• API automation with Postman.
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or Java.
• Experience with Xcode and Android Studio.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile QE processes.
• Experience with JIRA and Confluence for test management.
• Hands-on with Charles Proxy and Postman.
• Familiarity with AI-powered testing tools.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (AODA, WCAG 2.0/2.1).

Responsibilities

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and faster release cycles.
• Conduct accessibility testing using tools such as VoiceOver, TalkBack, JAWS, and WCAG compliance checkers.

Quality Engineering Associate

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Quality Engineer with expertise in Native Mobile Applications, Web Automation, and API Testing to join our fast-paced and innovative team. As a Quality Engineer, you will work with a team of talented QE, ensuring the delivery of high-quality of Web and mobile applications through comprehensive testing and quality assurance practices. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. You will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our digital products by designing and executing robust automated test strategies across platforms.

• Participate in refinement, planning, daily stand-ups, defect triage, and release-readiness activities.

• Conduct accessibility testing using tools such as VoiceOver, TalkBack, JAWS, and WCAG compliance checkers.
• Utilize AI tools to enhance test case generation, defect prediction, and visual validation.
• Work with cloud-based device farms (e.g., TestGrid) to ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility.
• Analyze test results, debug failures, and work closely with developers to resolve issues.
• Maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and automation scripts.

Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in QE with a strong focus on test automation for native mobile apps, web applications, and APIs.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Playwright, Appium, or Selenium.
• Strong experience in API automation using tools like Postman, with a focus on error handling and validation.
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or Java for test automation.
• Experience with Xcode, Android Studio, and mobile debugging tools.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and QE processes.
• Experience with JIRA, Confluence for test management.
• Hands on project experience with Charles Proxy AND Postman.
• Familiarity with AI-powered testing tools and cloud-based testing platforms.
• Deep knowledge of accessibility standards (AODA, WCAG 2.0/2.1) and testing techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
