Astek Canada is seeking an experienced AI Engineer to join its AI enablement team in Montreal. You will turn business needs into AI products, build tools, dashboards, and integrations, and review AI-generated code for security and quality.

The role emphasizes collaboration with senior technologists, rapid prototyping, and governance of GenAI practices. Hybrid work with on-site onboarding and multi-office access is offered.

Qualifications

• 7 to 10 years of Python experience.
• 1 to 2 years of AI experience or practical familiarity with generative AI.
• Experience building APIs, automations, or web applications.
• Daily and responsible use of AI coding assistants.
• Ability to review, debug, and improve AI-generated code.
• Strong problem-solving skills in ambiguous environments.
• Excellent communication skills with non-technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of architecture principles, standards, and guardrails is an asset.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Partnering with senior technologists to identify automation opportunities


• Building internal tools, dashboards, and applications using AI-assisted development

• Reviewing AI-generated code for security, quality, and maintainability


• Rapid prototyping and continuous iteration based on user feedback


• Enabling non-developers to safely create their own solutions
