Job summary

Jobtailor in Markham, ON is seeking a senior Information Governance consultant to design and implement Purview-based data governance programs for enterprise clients. You will lead workshops, develop frameworks, and drive executive dashboards and risk reporting.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, align policies with regulatory standards, and guide AI governance initiatives, ensuring privacy controls and data lifecycle practices across complex environments.

Qualifications

5+ years in Information Governance, Data Governance, Risk, Compliance, or Microsoft 365 consulting.
Experience implementing Microsoft Purview
Experience supporting regulatory audits
Experience designing governance frameworks
Experience developing executive reporting and dashboards
Experience working directly with executive stakeholders
Strong experience with Microsoft Purview, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Defender, SharePoint Online, Teams, Exchange Online, Power BI, Microsoft Graph, and PowerShell
Experience in Information Governance, Data Governance, AI Governance, Records Management, Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance, Audit Readiness, Internal Controls, Policy Development, Data Privacy, and Compliance Reporting
Experience creating executive dashboards, compliance scorecards, governance KPIs, risk reporting, audit reporting, board reporting, operational metrics, data quality reports, and compliance trend analysis

Responsibilities

Design and implement Microsoft Purview solutions for enterprise clients.
Lead governance workshops, executive presentations, discovery sessions, solution architecture, business case development, client training, documentation, and pre-sales support.
Develop enterprise data governance programs, including frameworks, ownership models, stewardship, metadata, data quality, cataloging, and privacy controls.
Conduct governance maturity assessments and create governance roadmaps.
Lead AI governance initiatives covering responsible AI, Copilot governance, AI risk assessments, policy, compliance, security controls, lifecycle governance, oversight, usage monitoring, prompt governance, and data readiness.
Assist with compliance programs, regulatory gap assessments, audit preparation, policy development, control documentation, evidence collection, risk assessments, and compliance reporting.
Develop governance and compliance reports, dashboards, executive scorecards, KPIs, maturity reports, and risk dashboards.
