Job summary

Region of Waterloo is seeking a Production Support Associate to manage hard copy and electronic publishing for internal and external customers. You will coordinate the production tracking system and liaise with external service providers for overflow work.

You will prepare cost estimates, track job status, perform colour calibrations, and ensure accurate invoicing. The role also requires maintaining monthly statistics and collaborating with team members to deliver quality outputs on time.

Qualifications

• 1-year community college education and on-the-job training with 2 years' experience operating equipment.
• Knowledge of print shop procedures, copy duplicating, finishing, and basic graphic arts.
• Familiarity with Region's graphics standards.
• Ability to handle confidential materials with discretion.
• Ability to calculate costs and maintain job status details.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the production tracking system and release print jobs.
• Collaborate with customers to clarify instructions and estimate costs.
• Coordinate external service providers and monitor deadlines and costs.
• Operate printers to produce hard copy materials and archive jobs.
• Perform colour calibrations and minor servicing on equipment.
• Maintain costing information and ensure invoicing accuracy.
• Record monthly statistics and manage petty cash.
• Support and back up other Publishing Technicians and staff.
