Job summary

The Department of Finance, Government of the Northwest Territories, is seeking a Manager, Operations in Hay River. The role manages transactional processing (AP/AR, journals, payroll and benefits) in the GNWT ERP system, ensuring accurate payments to vendors and employees and strong controls across departments.

Reporting to the Assistant Director, you will liaise with client departments and stakeholders, applying Acts, regulations, policies, and standards to financial transactions and payroll

Qualifications

• Completion of an undergraduate degree with 5 years relevant experience in a service-centered transactional environment, including 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Ability to apply GNWT and federal Acts, Manuals, Regulations and Policies to payroll and financial transactions.
• Strong understanding of ERP systems and financial compliance processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounts payable/receivable and general journal entries.
• Manage payroll and employee benefits administration.
• Ensure payments to vendors and employees are accurate and timely.
• Maintain close working relationships with client departments and stakeholders.
