Horizon Recruitment in Langley, BC, is recruiting a Staff Accountant to support a growing public practice. This in-office role focuses on year-end accounting, tax preparation, and review engagements for a portfolio of incorporated businesses as you progress toward CPA designation.

You will work closely with partners and senior accountants, manage multiple client files and deadlines, and develop your technical skills across working papers, compilations, and tax returns while maintaining accurate

Qualifications

• Public practice experience including year-end and corporate tax work.
• Actively pursuing CPA designation or equivalent accounting training.
• Experience preparing working papers, compilations, and tax returns.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop; strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare year-end working papers, compilations and review engagements for incorporated clients.
• Prepare corporate and personal tax returns with supporting schedules and reconciliations.
• Maintain well-organized working papers for review and handoff to partners.
• Collaborate with partners and senior accountants on complex files and advisory matters.
• Communicate with clients to gather information and resolve items.
• Track billable time across multiple client files and deadlines.
