Job summary

MB Recruitment Canada is assisting a client in Langley, BC, to recruit a Superstar Accounting Manager. This role balances day-to-day accounting duties with mentoring a small team to ensure accuracy, timeliness and consistency across the finance function.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, full-cycle accounting, and proven proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced Excel. CPA designation is a valued asset and prior supervision experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience including full-cycle accounting.
• Experience preparing month-end financial statements.
• Experience using QuickBooks or QuickBooks Online.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• CPA designation is an asset.
• Experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff.

They are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant who likes to balance day to day duties while mentoring a small team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post month-end journal entries
• Support the preparation of financial statements and management reports
• Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns
• Assist the Group CFO with year-end preparation and external reporting requirements
• Handle all Cash Management and Accounts
• Provide Payroll Support
• Provide day- to day- guidance, mentorship and oversight to junior accounting staff
• Provide business support to department managers
• Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities as required.
• Assist with ERP, accounting system, and workflow enhancements

Requirements

• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience including full cycling accounting
• Experience providing month-end financial statements
• Experience using QuickBooks or QuickBooks Online
• Advance Microsoft Excel Skills
• The ability to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Excellent organizational skills, a time wizard
• CPA designation would be considered an asset
