Job summary

Vancouver Island Health Authority is seeking a Public Health Nurse to join the team serving Gabriola Island, Ladysmith, Nanaimo and surrounding communities. You will contribute to health promotion, prevention, education, and assessment across diverse settings.

The role requires BC RN registration, experience with children and families, and willingness to travel between sites using a personal vehicle. This temporary PT assignment beginsAug 10, 2026 and ends Jun 11, 2027.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a recognized nursing program with community or public health component.
• Two years' recent related experience with children, youth and families.
• BC RN registration and license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Provide health promotion, disease prevention, education, assessment, counseling and consultation to individuals, groups and communities.
• Deliver services in communities, homes, schools and outreach locations.
• Travel between multiple sites and utilize a personal vehicle as required.
