Job summary

Prairie Mountain Health in Brandon, MB is seeking a Public Health Nurse to apply nursing theory to promote community health. The role supports reproductive/sexual health, injury and disease prevention, and population health across the life span in a continuous care model.

Responsibilities include immunization, surveillance, child and family health promotion, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Baccalaureate in Nursing and active RN licensure in Manitoba are required.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate in Nursing and active RN licensure in Manitoba are required.
• BCLS certification as per Prairie Mountain Health policy.
• Three years of public health nursing experience within the last five years.
• Manitoba driver’s license or equivalent and access to a personal vehicle.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with public health regulations and harm-reduction principles.

Responsibilities

• Promote and protect health of populations using public health nursing.
• Assess health status and determinants across the lifespan.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to plan and implement programs.
• Immunize, screen and provide preventive services as per protocols.
• Maintain documentation in alignment with professional standards and RHPA.
• Advocate for health equity and culturally appropriate care.
