Job summary

City of Powell River is seeking a Civic Properties Janitor to support cleaning and upkeep across City facilities in Powell River, BC. This part-time role requires a RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance and offers union employment with a structured schedule.

You will perform routine cleaning duties, assist with basic facility maintenance, and report hazards to the Civic Properties Supervisor. Hours, pay rates and schedule reflect union standards.

Qualifications

• High School (Grade 12) or equivalent.
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License.
• RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance.
• WHMIS Certificate.
• Building Service Worker 1 Certificate.
• One year janitorial experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide janitorial services in City facilities to keep spaces safe and clean.
• Maintain cleanliness of buildings, furnishings and fixtures.
• Complete routine cleaning tasks and basic facility upkeep.
• Report damage, hazards and maintenance concerns to the supervisor.
• Follow safety procedures and use cleaning products and tools properly.
