Job summary

The City of Powell River is seeking RCMP Guards to provide safe custody and supervision of detainees at the Detachment cellblock. You will perform security, administrative and housekeeping duties, maintain logs, and ensure compliance with RCMP policies while handling high-risk situations.

Requirements include Grade 12 diploma, Basic First Aid, WHMIS, completion of RCMP guard training, and six months of related experience. Salary is $35.65 per hour in a unionized position.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Complete documents related to prisoners and maintain cell cleanliness and the guard room.
• Perform custodial, security, administrative and housekeeping duties.
• Respond to high-risk situations with sound judgment.
• Maintain logs and operate computer systems as required.
