Job summary

AIMCo's Public Equities team provides core asset class exposure to Canadian and global equity markets. Intern will support the Portfolio Construction and Beta Management teams by assisting in reporting, product positioning analysis, and research across country, industry, and style factors.

This 4-month full-time summer internship runs May to August 2027. Ideal candidates are pursuing finance, economics, math, or related fields, with interest in investment management, exposure to Python, and

Qualifications

Pursuit of undergraduate or graduate degree in finance, economics, math, statistics, computer science or related field.
Demonstrated interest in investment management through related activities.
Pursuit of, or the intent to pursue, the CFA designation is an asset.
Exposure to Bloomberg or Capital IQ is an asset.
Experience with programming, especially in Python, is an asset.
Collaborative team player with good communication and relationship building skills.

Responsibilities

Assisting in the development of reports and tools to help portfolio managers increase the efficiency and transparency of our products.
Assisting the team to more accurately assess product positioning across different country, industry, and style factors, for the purposes of considering new or existing investment opportunities.
Assisting in the research and development of quantitative models and alpha signals.
Collaborating with team members to develop a practical understanding of the day-to-day operations of a global investment firm.
