Job summary

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is seeking a Casual Part-Time Physiotherapy Assistant in Orillia, ON. You will assist the supervising physiotherapist with treatment plans for residents in residential care communities and deliver group exercise sessions.

The role requires an PTA/OTA diploma or degree in Kinesiology or a similar healthcare field, with LTC experience considered an asset. A Vulnerable Sector check and TB clearance are required.

Qualifications

• PTA/OTA diploma or degree in Kinesiology or similar healthcare field
• Experience in LTC setting preferred
• Valid Vulnerable Sector screening (within 6 months)
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux) clearance

Responsibilities

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist with treatment plans for residents in care communities
• Perform treatments as prescribed (gait training, balance exercises, ROM, strengthening, modalities)
• Deliver dynamic group exercise classes for residents
• Set up and prepare equipment; clean up after treatments
• Ensure resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy
• Communicate changes or concerns about residents to the physiotherapist
• Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' web-based system

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is looking for a Casual Part-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our growing team!

Location: Orillia, ON

Status: Casual Part-Time

Schedule: 22.5 hours/week

In this role you will:

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist in performing various components of the treatment plans for individuals living in residential care communities
• Perform various treatments as prescribed and directed by the supervising Physiotherapist including but not limited to gait training, balance exercises,
  transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, application of modalities. (i.e. heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS)
• Deliver dynamic, safe and therapeutically beneficial exercise classes for groups of residents
• Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after residents' treatments
• Ensure that the resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy
• Maintain regular ongoing communication with the physiotherapist regarding any changes or concerns about a resident's status or treatment interventions
• Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' proprietary, web-based system

Qualifications:

• PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology or a similar healthcare background
• Previous experience within an LTC setting an asset.
• A valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within 6 months)
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance
