ROYAL OTTAWA HEALTH CARE GROUP seeks a Clinical Psychologist to provide court-ordered psychiatric assessments and evidence-based forens ic evaluations in adults. You will contribute to program development, supervise practicum students, and participate in interdisciplinary collaboration to advance patient care.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from CPA/APA accredited program.
  • Registration with Ontario college or eligibility is mandatory.
  • Post-PhD clinical Mental Health experience is an asset.
  • Authorized practice areas in Clinical and Forensic Psychology.
  • Authorized adult client population is mandatory.
  • Evidence-based treatment delivery in individual and group formats.
  • Ability to work in an inter-professional team.
  • Maintain workload measurement and data input regularly.
  • English proficiency at level A-; French is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely psychological evaluations for court-ordered psychiatric assessments.
  • Deliver evidence-based psychological assessment and treatment for adults in Forensic Psychiatry (CBT/DBT).
  • Contribute to program development, evaluation, and research activities.
  • Offer individual and team case consultations within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Supervise practicum students and residents; provide professional consultations.
  • Demonstrate leadership, professionalism, and adherence to standards.

Education

Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (CPA/APA accredited)
Registration or Eligible for Registration with the College of Psychologists and Behavioural Analysts of Ontario
2-3 years post-PhD experience in clinical mental health (asset)
Authorized areas of practice in Clinical Psychology and Forensic Psychology
Authorized client population: Adults
Evidence-based treatment delivery (individual & group)
Inter-professional teamwork & collaboration

English level at least A- (oral, reading, writing)
French/English bilingual (asset)

Job description

Duties:
  • Provide timely psychological evaluations for court‑ordered psychiatric assessments for individuals with severe mental illness involved in the legal system.
  • Deliver evidence‑based psychological assessment and treatment (individual and group) for adults in Forensic Psychiatry, incorporating goal‑oriented modalities such as CBT and DBT.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the Forensic Psychiatry Program, including program‑aligned research activities.
  • Offer individual and team case consultation and collaborate effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Participate in academic activities, including supervision of practicum students, residents, and supervised practice staff, and provide professional consultation as required.
  • Demonstrate leadership, professionalism, and adherence to ethical, regulatory, and organizational standards in all clinical and documentation practices.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful work environment aligned with The Royal’s safety policies and Harassment‑Free Workplace policy.
Qualifications:

  • 2 - 3 years experience post PhD in clinical mental health is an asset.
  • Mandatory Authorized areas of practice in Clinical Psychology and Forensic Psychology.
  • Authorized client population with Adults is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and competency with integration of psychiatric rehabilitation principles and practices of recovery into program design, evaluation and delivery.
  • Demonstrated competency in delivering evidence based treatment in both individual and group formats.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team setting and to communicate and collaborate in an inter-professional team context are essential.
  • Maintain work load measurement and data collection as required and input into the workload measurement system on a regular basis.
  • English level A- is mandatory in oral comprehension, expression, reading, and writing. Bilingual (French/English) is considered an asset.
