Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate psychologist to join our dedicated team. This position offers a unique opportunity for an individual who is enthusiastic about working in paediatrics, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and has a strong desire for professional growth and skill development.

We are looking for a psychologist who can carry out psychoeducational assessments of school-aged children. We are particularly looking for someone interested in dedicating a concentrated amount of time to testing. A strong applicant is high energy, has a positive attitude, and has a passion for helping children and families. Responsibilities:

  1. Provide comprehensive psychological assessments exploring a wide range of learning, attention, and/or mental health needs.
  2. Responsible for administering and scoring psychological measures of children and adolescents from diverse backgrounds.
  3. Generate clinical summaries and reports of psychometric results in order to provide feedback to the assessing psychologist and the multidisciplinary team.
  4. Provide observations relevant for interpretation of assessment results and offer recommendations for intervention.
  5. Follow an evidence-based approach to assessment.
  6. Manage a varied caseload and meet required timelines.
  7. Maintain complete and accurate medical records using the Electronic Medical Record system.
  8. Summer contract position. Opportunity to extend as well.

Qualifications:

  1. M.A. or Ph.D. in Psychology (Ph.D. students and students in supervised practice welcome).
  2. Course work and previous clinical experience in administering and scoring psychometric measures with children and adolescents.
  3. Knowledge of child and adolescent psychosocial development and psychopathology.
  4. Demonstrate strong proficiency in psychological assessment with children and adolescents.
  5. Prefer experience in working with pediatric mental health concerns.
  6. Collaborate effectively with members of a multidisciplinary team and work independently.
  7. Apply evidence-based practices in assessments and interventions.
  8. Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills in various situations.
  9. Maintain a high attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  10. Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  11. Interact effectively with children and adults, utilizing excellent interpersonal skills.
  12. Manage time efficiently and demonstrate strong organizational skills.
  13. Demonstrate grit and adaptability in challenging situations.
