Job description

About Stem Health

Stem Health is reimagining the primary care experience for individuals who want a more thoughtful relationship with their health. Physician-led and membership-based, we combine medical excellence with the warmth of hospitality anchored in a beautifully designed flagship clinic at First Canadian Place, opening September 2026. Our care model is relationship-based, data-informed, and built on time, trust, and exceptional service.

The Vision

At Stem Health, we believe that mental resilience is the silent engine of longevity the vital pillar that connects physical performance to a life well‑lived. In a world where mental health is too often treated as a reactive crisis or a disconnected checkbox, we are building a space where the mind is prioritized as a proactive, core component of every member's Unified Health Story.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Registered Psychologist in good standing with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO) to join Stem Health's team. In this role, you will provide doctoral-level psychological assessment and evidence-based psychotherapy to Stem Health members through a secure virtual platform, in-clinic, and through our annual health assessment, working as an integrated member of our multidisciplinary clinical team.

This is not a high-volume, transactional caseload. It is a time-rich, relationship-based model where your clinical depth, diagnostic acuity, and therapeutic expertise are the standard — not the exception. You will work with health-engaged, high-performing members who are seeking proactive, sophisticated psychological support as part of a broader commitment to their wellbeing and you will help us build and shape the mental health program that serves them.

Key Responsibilities
Psychological assessment and diagnosis
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments for new members, including clinical interviews, structured psychological evaluation, and where indicated, psychometric and neuropsychological testing establishing a rigorous clinical formulation that grounds the therapeutic work ahead.
  • Translate complex psychological findings into clear, accessible language that empowers members to understand their mental health, make informed decisions, and engage purposefully in their own care.
  • Identify and, where appropriate, formally diagnose psychological conditions including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma-related presentations, ADHD, and adjustment disorders within the scope of the registered psychologist in Ontario.
  • Develop individualized case conceptualizations that integrate psychological, biological, and social factors, informing a precise and personalized therapeutic approach for each member.
Evidence-based psychotherapy
  • Provide doctoral-level, evidence-based psychotherapy through time-rich sessions drawing from a repertoire that may include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, psychodynamic approaches, and trauma-informed care.
  • Deliver sessions that prioritize therapeutic depth, presence, and genuine relationship — maintaining the same standard of warmth, discretion, and clinical precision through a screen as members experience in our physical clinic.
  • Support members navigating anxiety, depression, burnout, trauma, performance challenges, life transitions, grief, relationship difficulties, and the psychological dimensions of physical health conditions.
  • Provide psychological support for health-performance optimization including stress regulation, cognitive clarity, sleep, and the mind-body dimensions of longevity in alignment with Stem Health's proactive health philosophy.
  • Monitor therapeutic progress longitudinally, using validated outcome measures where appropriate and adjusting the therapeutic approach based on clinical response and evolving member goals.
Care coordination and integrated practice
  • Work as an active, connected member of Stem Health's multidisciplinary clinical team sharing relevant psychological insights within the member's Unified Health Story and ensuring that psychological findings and therapeutic progress are integrated with their broader health picture.
  • Collaborate with primary care physicians, psychiatrists (where engaged), care coordinators, and allied health providers on cases where psychological health intersects with physical health, metabolic function, chronic disease, or medication management.
  • Identify members who may require psychiatric consultation, crisis support, or a higher level of care, and facilitate appropriate referrals and care transitions with precision and compassion.
  • Contribute to interdisciplinary case reviews, bringing a psychological formulation perspective to complex presentations across the clinical team.
Program development
  • Play an active role in the development of Stem Health's Mental Health Program contributing psychological frameworks, assessment protocols, therapeutic models, and evidence-based standards that shape how mental health is delivered across the organization.
  • Help develop member-facing psychological resources, psychoeducation materials, and wellness content that reflect the rigor and accessibility of doctoral-level psychological practice.
  • Contribute to the ongoing refinement of Stem Health's mental health experience, helping us establish the standard for proactive, integrated psychological care in Canadian private healthcare.
Documentation and professional standards
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough clinical documentation for all assessments, sessions, and care coordination activities within Stem Health's EHR platform, in compliance with CPO standards of professional conduct and PHIPA requirements.
  • Maintain registration in good standing with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO) and adhere to all applicable standards of practice, ethical principles, and continuing education requirements.
  • Maintain current professional liability insurance required.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Doctoral degree in Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) from an accredited program required.
  • Registered Psychologist in good standing with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO) required.
  • Minimum 3 years of post-registration clinical experience in direct psychological practice, including psychological assessment and psychotherapy.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic modalities CBT, ACT, DBT, mindfulness-based approaches, trauma-informed care, or psychodynamic therapy.
  • Experience conducting psychological assessments and producing clinical formulations that integrate diagnostic, psychological, and contextual factors into a coherent, actionable clinical picture.
  • Experience delivering virtual psychological services via a secure digital platform, with the professional fluency to maintain warmth, therapeutic presence, and clinical effectiveness through a screen.
  • Experience in private practice, executive health, high-performance psychology, or working with health-engaged, goal-oriented populations is a significant asset.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills rigorous, warm, and able to establish genuine therapeutic alliance quickly and sustain it over time.
  • Proficiency with EHR/EMR systems and comfort working within a digitally integrated, multidisciplinary clinical environment.
  • Current professional liability insurance required.
Ideal Candidate

You are a clinician whose doctoral training shows in every assessment, every formulation, and every session but whose warmth ensures members never feel like a case. You bring both the diagnostic precision of a psychologist and the human presence of a trusted guide. You are energized by a proactive model of mental health that treats psychological wellbeing as a cornerstone of longevity, not a crisis response. You want to be part of a team, and you want to help build something that sets a new standard.

Why Join Stem Health
  • A time-rich, low-volume model that protects the depth and quality of psychological work trade caseload fatigue for intentional, relationship-based practice with members who are genuinely invested in their mental health.
  • True integration: even in a remote role, you are a full member of a multidisciplinary clinical team, with access to a Unified Health Story that connects your psychological work to the member's complete health picture.
  • An active role in building Stem Health's Mental Health Program from the ground up your clinical expertise will shape the assessment protocols, therapeutic frameworks, and program standards.
  • Meaningful growth: help define what proactive, doctoral-level psychological care looks like as a core pillar of integrated primary care in Canada.
