Job Summary
Working in a multi-disciplinary team, the Psychologist will provide psychotherapy services for children, individuals, couples and families using a trauma-focused lens. The Senior Psychologist will also be involved in supervision, training and professional development activities for Melrose Care and Melrose Home, when required.
Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical
a) Provide evidence informed therapeutic services for clients, incorporating best practice principles and guidelines like trauma-focused and trauma-informed care.
b) Practice standards should minimally be conducted according to local professional bodies that provide oversight on therapeutic human services and according to Melrose Care standards of practice.
c) When needed and where consent has been obtained, provide consultation, support and update on the clients' progress and status to caregivers and all those involved in the care team.
d) Keep timely and proper records of the sessions and case conferences conducted as well as supervision notes pertaining to the case. The records should be of a professional standard guided minimally by related local professional associations such as Singapore Association of Counselling and the like and according to Melrose Care SOPs and standards of practice.
e) Where needed, prepare and submit professional reports to referring agencies, the court, etc.
f) Evaluate and reflect on own clinical practice to ensure that clients’ needs are met and standards adhered to.
g) Provide clinical input to centre’s processes (intake processes, case assignments etc), practice standards to ensure that they are trauma-informed and in accordance with best practices and professional standards.
h) Conduct mental health assessment for youth and adolescent, and adults (when required for client’s caregivers/parents)
i) Contribute to initial assessments, initial consultations with clients and referring agencies.
j) Supervise and participate in referral screening process where needed.
k) Initiate engagement and work collaboratively with other stakeholders/community partners to support clients and develop their own trauma informed community of support.
2. Professional Development
a) Keep abreast of development in areas pertaining to best practice guidelines for trauma-focused interventions, emerging evidence-based interventions and other relevant and sound therapeutic techniques. This could be in the form of readings, online/in-person training.
b)Participate and co-facilitate regular internal supervision sessions and other internal professional group meetings.
c)Where needed and directed by Centre Head, conduct in-house or external training programmes for relevant staff, caregivers and volunteers in the organization/community.

Salary: $4,800to$5,800 Monthly
