Job summary

The Marguerite-Bourgeoys School Service Centre is seeking a psychoeducator to support students' adaptive skills, autonomy, and well-being within the school environment.

You will intervene in prevention, screening, assessment, and support for students with adaptation difficulties, and develop tailored psychoeducational plans while consulting with teachers, parents, and other staff to ensure coherent interventions.

Qualifications

• Be a member of the Order of Psychoeducators of Quebec (OPPQ).
• Strong analytical, observational, and synthesis skills.
• Listening, communication, and dialogue skills.
• Encourage collaboration with various stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Human, relational, and psychological qualities.
• French language proficiency demonstrated by SEL/CÉFRANC/TECFÉE or CSSMB exam within three months of hiring.

Responsibilities

• Participate in development and implementation of psychoeducation service within institutional/SCÉ frameworks.
• Contribute to screening and recognition of students with difficulties, focusing on prevention/intervention.
• Plan and conduct assessments to clarify functioning and psychosocial needs for students with disabilities or disorders.

Being a psychoeducator means supporting the development of students' adaptive skills to promote their autonomy, well-being, and participation in school life.

On a daily basis, you intervene in prevention, screening, assessment, and support for students facing adaptation difficulties. You develop and implement psychoeducational intervention plans tailored to their needs and act as a consultant to other school staff and parents to promote coherent and appropriate interventions in their environment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the development and implementation of the psychoeducation service while respecting educational and administrative frameworks, both at the level of the institutions and the School Service Centre;

• Contribute to the screening and recognition of students experiencing difficulties, with a focus on prevention and intervention;

• Plan and conduct assessments of students' adaptation difficulties and adaptive capacities, particularly for students with disabilities or adaptation difficulties, and for students diagnosed with a mental or neuropsychological disorder by a qualified professional resource, in order to clarify the student's functioning profile and psychosocial needs.
