Job summary

The Lambton Kent District School Board is hiring a Psychoeducational Clinician to provide psychological assessment services, crisis intervention and mental health counselling to students across the district. Reporting to the Manager of Psychological Services, the role supports school teams and families.

This permanent, CUPE position is 35 hours per week and requires registration with the College of Psychologists or Psychotherapists and a Master's degree in Psychology.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Psychology required.
  • Registration with College of Psychologists or Psychotherapists mandatory.
  • Experience in educational settings is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychological assessment and testing under supervision.
  • Offer crisis intervention and mental health counseling to students.
  • Counsel/consult with students, parents, teachers and outside agencies.
  • Travel within the District.

Posting Overview

Reporting to the Manager of Psychological Services, this position will provide psychological assessment services, crisis intervention as well as mental health consultation and counselling to the students of the Lambton Kent District School Board.

Qualifications/Experience
  • Possess a Master's level degree in Psychology;
  • Registration with the College of Psychologists or Psychotherapists is mandatory.
Other Key Skills & Knowledge
  • Determine intervention strategies with school based team;
  • Counsel/consult with students, parents, teachers, outside agencies on a variety of student related educational and psychological issues;
  • Provide psychological assessment and testing under the supervision of the Manager of Psychological Services and consult with parents, teachers, school administration and outside agencies;
  • Work effectively as a team member with department staff, other Board staff, outside agencies;
  • Communicate both verbally and in writing to relay information accurately;
  • Experience in the above areas, preferably in an educational setting is an asset;
  • Travel will be required within the District.
Position Effective Date & Length

Permanent CUPE, 35 hours/week. Serving schools throughout the District.

Compensation

Schedule B - $80,272/annum - $84,932/annum
