A leading healthcare provider in Canada seeks a Nursing Unit Clerk to support patient care operations. The role involves clerical duties, communication with medical staff, and maintaining patient records. Candidates should have a Grade 12 education, relevant program completion, and experience in a healthcare setting.

Reporting to the Manager or designate and under general supervision, this position performs various clerical duties related to the operation of a patient care area. Responsibilities include acting as a communication link by transcribing and processing physicians' orders, liaising with other departments and hospitals, coordinating patient appointments, arranging tests and receiving results, managing visitors, and answering telephones. The role also involves maintaining patient statistics, completing administrative duties related to inpatient and extended leave psychiatric care, utilizing various computer software applications (word processing, spreadsheets, email, and specialized applications), and assembling and maintaining patient charts.
Grade 12 education, knowledge of medical terminology, graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program, and at least one year of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
