A leading healthcare provider is seeking a Nursing Unit Clerk to support patient care operations. The role involves clerical duties, communication with departments, and maintaining patient records. Ideal candidates will have Grade 12 education, medical terminology knowledge, and effective communication skills.

Reporting to the Manager or designate and under general supervision, this position performs various clerical duties related to the operation of a patient care area. Responsibilities include acting as a communication link for the Unit by transcribing and processing physicians' orders, communicating with other departments and hospitals, coordinating patient appointments, arranging tests and receiving results, receiving and directing visitors, and answering telephones. Maintains patient statistics and completes administrative, regulatory, and statutory duties related to inpatient and extended leave psychiatric care. Utilizes various computer software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and specialized applications. Also, assembles and maintains patient charts.
Grade 12 education, knowledge of medical terminology, and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program, plus one year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
