This Is An Opportunity To Help Develop And Create Psychiatry Services In The Lakes Omineca Region Providing Services To Neighboring Communities Of Burns Lake, Fort St James, And Fraser Lake And Surrounding Communities. Working In a Community Mental Health Team, The Psychiatrist, In Close Consultation With Family Physicians Will

• Provide patient assessments and treatment planning
• Provide ongoing patient centered consultation and education to physicians and interdisciplinary mental health teams to advance effective treatment
• Participate in provision of area-based continuum of psychiatric services including assessment of patients in the regional hospital observation unit

Outside of the hospital, the Mental Health & Substance Use community programs offer services that include a combination of functions with Interprofessional teams, as well as some specialty services, i.e. Developmental Disabilities Mental Health (DDMH), Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), etc. Youth addictions counselling and referral, elderly services counselling, early psychosis, eating disorders, vocational and recreation rehabilitation is also available at most community programs. In addition, there is adult addictions day treatment programs, and opioid agonist treatment program.

St. John Hospital Is a 24 Acute Care Bed And Eight Bassinet Facility With a Staff Base Of 180. The St. John’s Hospital Services Include

• Operating room 5 days/week, with FP-Surgery and FP-Anesthesia Support
• Endoscopy Services
• Maternity and Obstetric Services
• Emergency Services with FP Surgery and FP Anesthesia backup
• 24/7 Lab, X-ray
• FP run community oncology program
• Cardiac Stress Testing program

St. John Hospital Is a Teaching Facility For The University Of Northern British Columbia And UBC, With a Regular Rotation Of Students And Residents. Services That Are Operated On An Outpatient Basis From The St. John Hospital & Nearby Health Unit Include

• Public Health Services
• Mental Health Services
• Occupational therapy
• Home Care
• Dietician Services

St. John Hospital is also home to Stuart Nechako Manor, an attached long term care facility equipped with a hospice bed.

Visiting specialists to the hospital include: General Internist, orthopaedics, ENT, plastics and geriatrics.
