Job summary

Home Care Assistance is hiring PSW professionals to provide personal care in LTC facilities in Collingwood and Penetanguishene, Ontario. Shifts vary from mornings to evenings, overnights, and every other weekend. 2+ years of experience preferred.

We offer competitive pay starting at $21/hour based on experience, plus a benefits plan after 30+ hours per week, vacation pay, and flexible scheduling. We are an equal opportunity employer with WSIB coverage and commitment to staff health and safety.

Qualifications

• PSW certification is required
• Valid First Aid/CPR certificate is required
• Police Vulnerable Sector Check within last 6 months
• Driver's license and own insured vehicle mandatory
• Satisfactory professional references
• Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to anticipate problems and exercise sound judgment with confidential matters

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to clients
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support
• Provide behavior support and crisis intervention
• Maintain open communication with client and family
• Monitor care plan and document changes
• Respond to emergencies promptly
• Follow Care Plan and complete ADLs notes
• Document detailed care notes
• Perform other duties as assigned

We have 4 PSW vacancies for LTC facility in Collingwood and Penetanguishene to provide care. Shifts may vary from mornings to evenings to overnights and every other weekend. Need to have 2 plus years experience.

The successful candidate’s areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Provide personal care
• Drivers license and reliable car are mandatory for this position.
• Providingcognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support
• Provide behaviorsupport and crisis intervention
• Maintaining open communication with client and their family
• Monitoring care plan and adding documentation with any changes and updates
• Responding to all emergency situations
• All other duties, as assigned
• Follow Care Plan
• ADL's
• Clear and detailed care notes

Key qualifications for this position will include, but are not limited to:
