Home Instead in Cobourg/Port Hope, ON is seeking a Personal Support Worker to provide compassionate, home-based care to older adults. Flexible hours between 15 and 40 per week, with part-time and full-time opportunities, and competitive pay plus bonus and growth opportunities.

You will assist with personal care, mobility, meal prep, light housekeeping, medication reminders, and companionship, delivering relationship-based care in clients' homes with strong office support and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• PSW certificate and caregiving experience.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
• Favourable professional references.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with personal care routines (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and daily routines)
• Supporting mobility, safe transfers, and fall prevention techniques
• Providing companionship and emotional support to reduce isolation
• Preparing simple, nutritious meals and snacks
• Completing light housekeeping and maintaining a safe home environment
• Offering medication reminders according to care plans
• Supporting clients with cognitive changes, including dementia care
• Assisting with errands or transportation when required
