Qualifications

  • LL.B. or JD.
  • Practicing Lawyer in good standing with Law Society of Ontario, with 3 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Experience providing direction and supervision to staff.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, recruits, trains and supervises work activities to achieve team goals related to the prosecution and/or resolution of allegations of misconduct; assigns and delegates work, provides feedback and coaching to enhance employee contributions.
  • Oversees and manages the prosecution of matters before the Discipline and Fitness to Practice Committees; coordinates processes and negotiates with self-represented members.
  • Explains regulatory processes to relevant parties and system partners; shares regulatory knowledge with internal teams.
  • Drafts, prepares, and reviews legal documents.
  • Oversees recruitment and management of expert witnesses.
  • Collaborates with other teams to implement process improvements for consistency and compliance.
