Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Toronto is seeking a Proposal Manager to lead end-to-end proposal development for major pursuits. You will coordinate schedules, reviews, and contributors across capture, BD, technical, legal, and marketing teams to deliver compliant, high-quality submissions.

The role requires strong writing, project management, and collaboration skills, with a focus on pursuits of $1M+ in Canada. Hybrid work and professional development are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in proposal coordination or project management for the AEC industry.
• Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Advanced writing skills to translate complex technical information into client‑centric narratives.
• Proficient with MS Office tools and SharePoint; comfortable using AI tools when approved.

Responsibilities

• Partner with capture, BD, technical, legal, commercial, marketing, and graphics teams to produce cohesive submissions.
• Develop and manage proposal schedules, compliance matrices, templates, and production tools.
• Contribute to proposal content and ensure quality through editing and reviews.
• Oversee supporting requirements such as forms, certificates, graphics, and CRM updates.
• Mentor pursuit staff and support WinWork and growth initiatives.

Overview

We are hiring a Proposal Manager to join our team based in Toronto, Ontario. Reporting to the Manager of Proposal Management Services, the Proposal Manager plays a critical role in driving market growth across AtkinsRéalis by leading high‑profile, client‑centric proposal efforts for transportation, infrastructure, defense, and operations & maintenance markets.

The Proposal Manager is responsible for managing all phases of the proposal process, overseeing proposal activities to develop RFP‑compliant, competitive, and quality marketing materials, proposals, statements of qualification, and presentations. Full ownership of proposal development, strategy, and delivery of pursuits of $1 million or more is required, with a focus on the Canada region.

Your role

• Lead end‑to‑end proposal development—from kickoff through submission—ensuring compliant, client‑focused, on‑time deliverables.
• Coordinate proposal activities, including scheduling, hosting reviews, assigning contributors, and maintaining clear communication across all participants.
• Partner with capture, BD, technical, legal, commercial, marketing, and graphics teams to produce high‑quality, cohesive submissions.
• Develop and manage proposal schedules, compliance matrices, templates, and production tools to drive clarity, accountability, and timely progress.
• Contribute and refine proposal content, translating complex technical information into clear, compelling narratives and ensuring quality through editing and final reviews.
• Oversee supporting requirements such as forms, certificates, graphics, RFI logs, SharePoint document control, CRM updates, and proposal closeout.
• Mentor pursuit staff and support broader WinWork and growth initiatives, continuously improving proposal content and pursuit capabilities.

About You

• A bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in proposal coordination or project management for the AEC industry.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Advanced writing skills with the ability to transform complex technical information into client‑centric narratives.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools, including SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Project; comfortable using AI tools such as CoPilot when approved.
• A collaborative mindset, strong listening skills, and confidence working with stakeholders at all levels.
• Proactive initiative to engage subject matter experts and champion proposals that clearly articulate value to clients.

Expected Compensation

Base salary ranges from $100,200 to $137,700 CAD annually, determined by skills, experience, and role impact. Internal and external competitiveness are also considered.
