Job description

MetCap Living Management Inc. is one of Canada’s largest private third-party property managers, specializing in multi-residential property management. We are a growth-oriented company with our head office located in Toronto, Ontario, and property operations in British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick.

We are currently seeking a Property Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Regional Director, the Property Manager oversees the operations of an assigned residential portfolio in Ottawa.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Supervising and providing direction to Residential Managers, maintenance, and administrative staff
2. Contributing to the development of the annual operational budget and managing it
3. Assisting with Contractor management
4. Assisting with Property Maintenance & Administrative Management
5. Assisting with Client Management and reporting
6. Attending meetings during and after business hours (e.g., client, property manager, tenant meetings)
7. Monitoring the completion of maintenance work orders
8. Rent Collection and Arrears Management
9. Lease Administration and Tenant Liaison
10. Preparing documents for LTB hearings, evictions, etc.
11. Conducting in-suite, vacant unit, and regular building and grounds inspections
12. Responding to after-hours and weekend emergency calls
13. Ensuring buildings are code compliant at all times
14. Addressing City Orders and Fire Department Notices within designated timeframes
15. Performing other duties within the scope of the Property Manager role

Requirements:

1. Experience in residential property management, including property administration, maintenance, and customer service
2. Knowledge of relevant legislation, codes, and regulations
3. Understanding of building systems (HVAC, Fire Protection, Mechanical, Electrical)
4. Experience with the Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB)
5. Strong customer service orientation
6. Organizational skills for managing multiple service requests
7. Effective communication skills (written and oral)
8. Experience with Yardi or similar financial software
9. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook
10. Contract Management and Trade Supervision skills
11. Analytical and problem-solving skills
12. Supervisory skills
13. Ability to meet deadlines
