Job summary

The City of Thunder Bay is seeking a Property Agent to manage a diverse municipal real estate portfolio, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, land development opportunities, and property administration. You will negotiate agreements and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to support strategic asset management.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in business administration, planning or economics.
  • Three years’ experience in the real estate field.
  • Experience in land use planning and development and property administration, along with knowledge of legislated procedures as they relate to Municipal land functions is required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and supervise the maintenance, acquisition, development, marketing, leasing and disposal of City lands and buildings and recommend, prepare and finalize agreements and procedures related to these functions in conjunction with the City's Solicitor.
  • Prepare reports, studies, recommendations, by-laws, and other documentation related to Realty Services' functions.
  • Respond to written and verbal inquiries and liaise with other departments, public and private agencies and individuals on realty-related matters.
  • Assign work to contract personnel (lawyers, appraisers, surveyors, consultants, etc.) and provide a review and analysis of work submitted to the City.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of realty legislation and practices as they relate to the functions as the Realty Services Section.

As a Property Agent, you'll support the management and optimization of the City's real estate portfolio by facilitating property transactions, negotiating agreements, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and providing professional advice on municipal land matters. How You'll Support the Team

In this role, you will administer and manage municipal real estate transactions and provide professional support on a wide range of property-related matters. You will also have the following accountabilities:

What You'll Bring to the Team

Here's what will help you succeed as a Property Agent:
