Our client in York Region, ON is actively looking for a Property Accountant to join their team.

Position Description:

• Monthly general ledger reconciliations (AR, AP) to subledgers
• Assist in monthly budget vs actual variance reporting
• Gather information for annual lender reporting for IPP properties
• Assist in preparing CAM reconciliations
• Assist senior accountants with quarterly accruals/prepaids and amortization journal entries as well as financial statement preparation
• Assist in fielding requests from financial statement auditors
• Other duties based on the business needs of the commercial unit
• Prepare accurate monthly financial statements, including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and supporting schedules, ensuring timely submission by 20th of each month.
• Conduct property reconciliations and review discrepancies.
• Collaborate with property managers to maintain accurate records.
• Undertake additional assignments as required to support the team and company objectives.
• Strong customer service orientation with exceptional communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative accounting team.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new processes and software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with Newstar software is preferred.
• Demonstrate excellent time management, attention to detail, and teamwork.
• Autonomous, friendly, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
