THE POSITION

The Projects and Events Coordinator (Hitmen, Roughnecks, Wranglers) support’s the implementation of the business plan for the assigned group (Hitmen, Roughnecks or Wranglers), while delivering key results with respect to event coordination, fan experience, and sales.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Support the Business Managers with seasonal planning and season long execution of all activities and initiatives for all three teams, including game days, theme games, special events, and community events.
  • Coordinate and liaise with event operations, game presentation, external service providers, and customer service teams on individual events and fan appreciation promotions such as theme games, annual season ticket member events, turf parties, viewing parties, community events, and off-site events.
  • Liaise with partners and community groups with a focus on large group ticket packages, growth of ticket sales from established groups, sponsorship opportunities, brand awareness and revenue. Liaise with Group Sales, Game Presentation, Food and Beverage, and other required departments to execute deliverables.
  • Work with the Marketing Content and Event Coordinator and the Communications Coordinators to develop and execute community programs for all three teams to develop new fans and grow the reach in the community for all three teams
  • Assist as needed with the recruitment, booking, game presentation of Roughnecks half-time, and similar efforts with all three teams.
  • Assist Roughnecks Business Manager and General Manager, and Event Operations as needed, on development and promotion of Roughnecks community camps (4-6).
  • Guide departmental support staff, specifically the Intern, Business Operations (Hitmen, Roughnecks, Wranglers)
  • Fulfilling donation requests for all three teams
  • Support with planning and execution of jersey auctions (approximately 7-10) across the three teams. Includes working with creative to develop graphics, coordinating the auction site, and distributing the jerseys post auction
  • VenueOps detailing process for the department for all activities not assigned to Event Operations for execution
  • Actively participate in safety programs and follow polices;
  • Other duties and projects as assigned
THE INDIVIDUAL

The ideal individual will have the following background:

  • Event operations experience is a definite asset
  • The position requires you to be innovative, creative and have a high energy level
  • You must be a people person, have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) along with the ability to work in a team environment that thrives on customer service atmosphere.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills to ensure deadline and planning needs are met.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment is a must, while maintaining key relationships throughout the entire organization.
  • This position is considered a development role to grow knowledge within Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation.
