Building Science Technologist

Building Science & Sustainability

Saskatoon, SK

Today is the day to boost your career! Pinchin is seeking a Building Science Technologist to join our Building Science & Sustainability team in our Saskatoon Office.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Building Science Technologist will demonstrate sound knowledge and understanding of building systems including general knowledge of structure, building enclosures, mechanical and electrical systems, roofing systems, interior elements, site features, etc.

A Day in the life of a Project Technologist at Pinchin:
  1. Property Condition Assessments
  2. Building Investigations
  3. Reserve Fund Studies
  4. Technical report writing
  5. Liaising with clients and contractors
  6. Preparing proposals
  7. Developing business development skills to continue existing client relationships and build new ones

What You Bring To The Pinchin Team:
  1. Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Engineering, Architecture or diploma in Architectural/Civil Technology
  2. 1-3 years of experience related to building assessments is preferred.
  3. Sound construction knowledge
  4. Experience conducting Baseline Property Condition Assessments in accordance with the ASTM Standard E 2018-15 "Standard Guide for Property Condition Assessments" would be an asset
  5. Commercial Building Inspector experience is an asset
  6. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  7. A valid driver’s license, insurance & personal vehicle required (work related travel expenses will be compensated)
  8. Availability to work outside our core business hours and rotational weekends
