Project Technologist (Water and Wastewater)

Emissions Reduction and Compliance

Winnipeg, MB

Today is the day to boost your career! Pinchin is seeking a Project Technologist to join our Emissions Reduction and Compliance group’s Water and Wastewater Services Team in our Winnipeg Office.

Reporting to the Operations Manager and the Practice Specialist, the Project Technologist executes wastewater, stormwater and drinking water sampling projects by performing assessment, collaboration for treatment system design and permitting, sample coordination, sample collection, data reduction, and by preparing results tables and writing reports. The Project Technologist will work with ERC’s Project Managers and Project Engineers to help clients meet their on-going environmental regulatory compliance requirements.

A Day in the life of a Project Technologist at Pinchin:

  • Support the Water and Wastewater Services Team with various water related projects, including maintaining sample bottle inventory and sampling equipment, coordinating sampling events, developing and executing sampling plans, coordinating with external labs and report writing.
  • Play a role in the design and execution of drinking water and wastewater treatment system improvement and permitting from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, and exceeding client expectations.
  • Conduct thorough on-site inspections to assess site conditions, system performance and regulatory compliance and assist in the formulation of appropriate solutions and strategies.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations and best practices in infrastructure design.
  • Prepare proposal documents and assist with the management of project budgets and invoicing under the direction of the Project Manager.
  • Represent Pinchin through professional conduct, and adhere to proper quality control, and health and safety protocols both in the office and at client facilities.

What You Bring To The Pinchin Team

  • A college diploma or Bachelor of Science degree in the field of engineering, environmental, natural or chemical sciences is required.
  • 1 – 2 years’ work experience, ideally in an industrial or consulting setting is preferred.
  • Eligibility for future licensure with a professional organization such as PEO (P.Eng.), OACETT (C.Tech or C.E.T) or ECO Canada (EP) preferred.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Ability to wear PPE when needed and lift up to 20kg.
  • Current and valid driver’s license with sufficient insurance, and access to a vehicle is required (work-related travel will be compensated).
  • Excellent organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail required.
  • Able to work well in a team environment.
  • Able to read, comprehend and proof all written reports and correspondence.
