Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Mississauga is seeking a Technical Manager to lead civil and structural design for the CANDU MONARK Project. You will coordinate the module program within engineering and interface with stakeholders, reporting to the Technical Director, Civil Engineering.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, P.Eng in Ontario or eligible within six months, 10+ years in refurbishment or large EPC projects, and 2+ years of people leadership. Travel to sites may be required.

Job description

Overview

The Technical Manager is a member of the Engineering Management Team (EMT) on the CANDU MONARK Project, responsible for coordinating the implementation of the module program within engineering, inclusive of interfacing with all stakeholders. The Technical Manager will report functionally to the Technical Director, Civil Engineering.

The Technical Manager will report functionally to the Technical Director, Civil Engineering.



Your role


  • Lead the civil and structural design process from basic engineering to detailed design.

  • Manage and develop a team of civil and structural engineering and 3D modeling and drafting professionals.

  • Plan and execute work to meet quality, cost, schedule, and technical requirements.

  • Coordinate and oversee civil and structural engineering activities for nuclear power plant design.

  • Ensure compliance with engineering, quality assurance, contractual, and regulatory requirements.

  • Support proposal development, resource forecasting, and risk mitigation to maintain safety, quality, and delivery.



About You


  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited University, with at least 10 years of engineering experience.

  • Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario, or eligible within six (6) months of hire.

  • 5+ years of engineering experience on refurbishment and/or new build projects, including large‑scale EPC environments.

  • 2+ years of people leadership experience, demonstrating strong directional leadership in dynamic, multidisciplinary teams.

  • Proven regulatory interface experience with CNSC, including registrations, code classifications, and compliance documentation.

  • Strong civil and structural engineering expertise with working knowledge of nuclear, CSA (general and N-series), and NBCC codes and standards.

  • Proven track record of performance in a multidiscipline, dynamic, project delivery environment.

  • Excellent organization and time management skills.

  • Willing to travel to and potentially work at sites to meet business needs, inclusive of project (construction) site, pre-assembly/module fabrication yards, and equipment/component suppliers. (Note: the initial site location is at the Mississauga head office or the Pickering Parkway Office in Ontario).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Security Clearance with Public Services and Procurement Canada is a condition of employment.
