Job summary

Siemens Mobility is seeking a Project Scheduler to support planning, monitoring and control of the execution schedule for a major transportation infrastructure program in Canada. You will develop, maintain and update detailed schedules covering engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, testing, commissioning and handover.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in project scheduling in heavy industry, strong knowledge of critical path analysis, and proven experience with Primavera P6 and

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years of solid experience in project scheduling in large projects.
  • Strong knowledge of scheduling methodologies including baseline management.
  • Extensive experience using Primavera P6 for scheduling and analysis.
  • Experience in multidisciplinary environments with multiple stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning processes.
  • Scheduling certifications (Primavera P6, PMI-SP or equivalent) plus PMP a plus.
  • Willingness to travel in Canada (business trips).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and Tilos.
  • Update schedules based on progress reports from engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning teams.
  • Assess impact of scope and schedule changes and propose mitigations with project teams.
  • Perform critical path analysis and monitor near-critical activities.
  • Prepare planning dashboards, KPIs, look-ahead schedules and progress reports.
  • Manage resource-loaded schedules, linking activities and allocating resources.
  • Document planning processes and contribute to tool/method improvements.

We are looking for a Project Scheduler to support the planning, monitoring, and control of the project delivery schedule during the execution phase of a major transportation infrastructure program.

The Project Scheduler will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and updating detailed execution schedules covering engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, testing, commissioning, and project handover activities.

Throughout the project, the Project Scheduler will analyze and monitor the progress of the work in close collaboration with the project management team, engineering teams, and customer, 3 rd parties and related parties representatives. The Project Scheduler will prepare progress reports and dashboards, ensuring it fulfills applicable Project standards.

The Project Scheduler will be a key contributor to the project controls organization and will actively participate in planning and coordination meetings, helping ensure alignment between all project participants and maintaining a clear view of project priorities and critical activities.

What will you do:
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and Tilos
  • Update project schedules based on progress reports received from engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning teams.
  • Assess impact of changes in scope, schedule and propose adjustments or mitigations in coordination with the relevant project management teams, ensuring proactive management of planning-related risks.
  • Perform critical path analysis and monitor near-critical activities.
  • Prepare planning dashboards, performance indicators, look-ahead schedules, and progress reports.
  • Manage resources loaded schedules, by properly linking activities and allocating the required resources (labor, materials, and equipment) within the schedule to ensure operational consistency.
  • to ensure proper documentation of planning processes and contribute to the continuous improvement of the tools and methods used.
What will you need to succeed:
  • A minimum of 10 years of solid experience in project scheduling, in large projects business, within the heavy industry (rail, aerospace, shipbuilding, energy, mining) or within the construction sector, involving large-scale engineering, system integration and manufacturing, construction challenges.
  • Strong knowledge of scheduling methodologies (critical path analysis, baseline management).
  • Strong experience using Primavera P6 for project scheduling and schedule analysis.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary project environments involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of project execution processes including engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
  • Structured, detail‑oriented, and proactive working style aligned with Siemens quality standards.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in French and English.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • PMP certification (or equivalent) will be a plus.
  • Scheduling certifications (Primavera P6, PMI‑SP, or equivalent) will be a plus
  • Willingness to travel in Canada (business trips)

The successful candidate for this position must be fluent in French and English (oral and written) to perform the duties and responsibilities of the role.

  • The role requires interaction with French and/or English speaking customers and suppliers across Canada and/or abroad.
  • The role requires regular interaction with Siemens colleagues based in Quebec, Ontario, nationally and internationally.
