The Project Management Office – Facilities at the University of Lethbridge is currently inviting applications for a 27-month term position as a Project Manager.
Reporting to the Associate Executive Director, Project Management Office, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing design services and project management expertise for all phases of maintenance, renovation and construction projects.
The successful candidate must be able to administer professional services agreements, develop project budgets, develop contracting strategies, determine user requirements and ensure the accurate reflection of those requirements in construction documents. Other duties include the preparation of tender documents, contracts, contract administration, developing cost estimates, performing on site construction observations and managing the implementation of approved projects within a project management system.
The University of Lethbridge is undertaking a job classification and compensation review for Administrative Professional Officer ( APO ) positions. As such, the salary range currently assigned for this position may be adjusted as a result of this project.
Position Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a University Degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience, or a College Diploma and a minimum of 5 years of experience, all of which should relate to the construction project management or construction experience. Equivalent combinations of education and construction experience will be considered.
Project Management qualifications, professional designations relevant to the construction industry, and experience in developing cost estimates for building systems in an institutional or commercial environment would be considered an asset. The position requires excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to exercise independent judgment and manage projects on time and on budget.
The successful candidate will be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
